Teacher FAQ

From thought-provoking to hands-on, KnowHow Dallas hosts informal classes for inquiring minds. We aim to connect adult learners to fun and affordable classes on a wide range of topics: food & drink, art, culture, philosophy, film, science, popular culture, Dallas past and present, and more. No topic is too obscure. What’s important to us is that your experience is just as enjoyable as the students’.

Who can teach a class?

We welcome teachers from all backgrounds. You may be a new teacher looking to gain some experience, a small business owner promoting your goods or services, or an experienced educator who believes in providing meaningful learning opportunities to the general public. You’re qualified to teach as long as you have some knowledge about and passion for your topic.

How are your classes structured?

•    Class length: Classes are usually about 1 hour and 30 minutes long. They mostly take place during the weekday evenings and daytime on weekends.
•    Class Fee: $12 + materials
•    Class locations: KnowHow Dallas offers "pop-up" style classes, so class locations vary. We have partnered with some amazing local businesses and organizations who let us use their space. You can check out who some of our venue partners are here. Alternatively, if you have another space in mind, especially one that could benefit from the exposure, we are open to your suggestions.

Do teachers get paid?

We do offer a small stipend for teachers which helps keep the cost of our classes more affordable. Teachers also have the option of volunteering their time and are offered a complimentary class as a token of our appreciation. Class material costs will be covered by us and added to the registration fee.
