Tamale-making is an intricate art form that takes hard work to master. Making them can become a festive event, where friends and family come together for a tamalada, a tamale-making party, to help out with a particular task from cooking the fillings, to making the masa (corn flour dough), to wrapping the tamales. John Hernandez, AKA "El Tamalero", will give a brief history of this culinary tradition, demonstrate how to make a tamale, and walk you through wrapping your own.
The hands-on portion of the class is limited to 15 people. Register below to participate in wrapping your own tamale. All registrants must arrive by 6:25 PM. Seats will be given up to those on a waiting list after 6:25 PM.
