Class Description

Creating your own ceramic piece, whether it's a planter, a dish, or another type of vessel can be done with just your hands and a bit of creativity. Come learn about the different methods that can result in making your very own handcrafted ceramic piece then decorate it using a technique called sgraffito. After the class, your piece will be fired in a kiln which will be ready to pick up (and food safe!) a few days later. No experience working with clay is necessary. Open to all levels. 

Spots are limited. Register early! 

You'll Get:
- all materials so that you can craft your very own ceramic piece
- an apron- but please wear something you wouldn't mind getting clay or glaze on

Erin West sells unique, handcrafted pieces online at her Etsy shop Erin West Ceramics. Erin found that creating with clay inspired and centered her to feel close to the earth. She combines form and function to create pieces that are eager to be used and appreciated. After taking a hiatus from being a high school art teacher, she is now devoting her time to her craft and business as well as caring for her twin girls and husband.
